Question | Answer |
1. Can I calibrate while not knowing the pixel size? | If you don't know the pixel size, just choose any value. The value of the sample-detector distance might not correspond to the real one (and therefore relative peak intensities will not be exactly correct) but the calibration is still valid for qualitative analysis. However the aspect ratio of a pixel should be known (ratio between horizontal and vertical pixel size). If you define a spatial distortion map prior to calibration, the pixel size will be calculated for you. |
2. The images I saved in the XDI editor don't contain the correct values! | This is because these are RGB images for visualization purposes. Use "File > Convert" to convert XDI files to tiff, edf, etc. |
